Success Stories
Ukweli & Kehmu
We got involved with the Teacher Consultant group around the Summer of 2020 . The group helped with teaching Pre-k to 3rd grade students during the pandemic. They really helped fill the gap when the schools were adapting to the pandemic and reduced the anxiety and lack of structure for the students.
As the program grew it also gave the children an outlet to remain social, develop relationships and friendship. They helped with testing the children to make sure they were meeting the national standards for the child’s educational development as well setting them for future success. The program also helped with a seamless transition back to school when the pandemic was “over”
Thank you for investing in our children during a pivotal time regarding their education and emotional growth and more importantly following up post pandemic to make sure our children had the resources needed to continue to grow!

James Success Story
We as a family immigrated to the US from Liberia in November 2019; but James returned and finally immigrated in July of 2020 when he was 4 years old and could not start kindergarten. We could also not afford day care and in addition to this, COVID-19 pandemic outbreaks made it even more difficult for a schooling opportunity. We were introduced to the Saturday drop-in online platform by teacher Joyce Witherspoon in 2020 as a free online opportunity to help James. We met Ms. Simmonds and teacher Marlene Marilyn for the first time during this program and they (along with teacher Joyce ) worked a miracle in the growth and development of our son, by the special grace of God.
Their love to see children become a better version of themselves every day; and their passion for teaching is compare to none I have ever seen. We started with a 2 hours Saturday drop-in reading & Math program, but when they realized that our son needed more help than just reading and math, Ms. Simmonds started an online tutorial with him outside of the Saturday 2 hrs. session, helping him in every subject or areas of interest, including personality building. She bonded with him so well and eventually became a mentor for not only our son, but also our older daughter who is in high school.
Ms. Simmonds met with and taught James 3 times a week for 2 hours (or more) each time, excluding the regular Saturday reading and STEM session of the group. And even on Saturdays, she has a special writing composition/story writing session with him prior to the regular activities with the group. She has become an indirect addition to our family and we would attend virtual interactions with our son’s school. She would also give us guidance for meetings she cannot attend; and follow up with us for findings that will further enhance her interaction with him; and areas of concentration for his growth and development.
The Teacher Consulting Group, Inc. has become an integral part of our son’s and our lives in a way that I can safely say without God first and them, our son would probably not be where he’s is today academically and socially. For this, we are very grateful to Ms. Simmonds, teacher Joyce, teacher Marilyn and the The Teacher Consulting Group, Inc.
Please see attached a video/photo of our son prior to when he first joined in 2020, two years later in 2022(as he ran for President of his first- grade class) and then Four years later (2024) as he presented a science project in his class.
He has also received several awards and accolades in school and every activity he is a part of; and much thanks for all this goes to Ms. Simmonds and the Teaching Consulting Group.”
