Anastasia Simmonds Caphart Founder/CEO Executive Director

Anastasia Simmonds Caphart is a dedicated and highly qualified professional educator with decades of diverse teaching experiences (in Liberia and the US),which require excellence in organization, teaching and communication.

She is passionate about culturally responsive teaching and providing a quality environment that empowers students to succeed, teaching and communication. She is passionate about culturally responsive teaching and providing a quality environment that empowers students to succeed. As a veteran teacher in the US since 1990, she has first-hand knowledge of constraints faced by teachers in working with culturally and linguistically diverse at-risk students, particularly from Africa.

Even in discussions with fellow Liberians, much dismay was expressed at the level of performance of some students particularly those from post-war Liberia. As she pondered possible solutions, the one thing that stuck to mind was training for Liberian teachers.

If one could help the teachers back home improve their skills, we could help alleviate some of the constraints of teachers in America working with students from Liberia and similar backgrounds. With collaboration, we can help US teachers understand Liberian students and deal with multicultural issues. Hence, in 2009, she formed Teacher Consultant Group, Inc., (TCG),a nonprofit in Atlanta, Georgia. TCG is also a registered Non- Governmental Organization (NGO)in Liberia.

TCG aims at helping to rehabilitate the Liberian Educational System with a special focus on
enhancing Early Childhood Education through special projects including but not limited to providing professional development for teachers, establishing resource centers, and literacy programs, and securing educational materials for schools.

My passion for education started at a young age, and I spent many years working as an assistant in a few daycare settings and as an elementary teacher in Monrovia, Liberia, which developed my love for working with young children.
